Kiltunnel

Challenge:

Tunnels are prone to accumulating harmful particulate matter (PM2.5 - PM10) due to limited ventilation and continuous traffic flow. The Kiltunnel needed a solution that could effectively reduce these pollutants to meet environmental standards and protect public health.

Solution:

The implementation of the Fine Dust Reduction System (FDRS) provided an innovative answer to the Kiltunnel’s air quality issues. Manufactured in the Netherlands, this stand-alone unit was installed in the tunnel to filter and reduce fine dust particles. A total of 20 FDRS units were deployed within the Kiltunnel to maximize impact.

Result:

The FDRS installation in the Kiltunnel led to a remarkable 57% reduction in particulate matter levels. This significant improvement in air quality highlighted the system's effectiveness and its potential benefits for other infrastructure projects. The success of FDRS in the Kiltunnel demonstrates its capability to enhance environmental conditions and promote healthier, safer travel environments.
